Little Monsters Tin Can Alley Printable

As promised, here is my little free downloadable template to create a tin can alley game for the family.

It's super easy to do, all you need are 6 clean tin cans such as tinned soup or beans; a ball approximately the size of a tennis ball or hand sized bean bags (3 if you want to make it easier to take 3 shots at once); a printer; some colouring in and craft supplies; scissors and sticky tape.

To make:

  1. Click on the image below to open a 3 page pdf file. You can save the document so you can print it or share it later, or just print it straight away.
  2. Cut out the 6 rectangles along the border lines.
  3. Colour in and decorate the images. We added glitter, pom moms and foam shapes to ours to jazz them up a bit.
  4. Using the sticky tape, wrap the rectangles around the tin can, bottom end up (so the open end is at the bottom of the tin).
  5. Please be careful with sharp edges!! Use the sticky tape and additional padding if necessary to ensure that there are no sharp edges at the base of your tin!

To Play:

  1. Stack the tin cans; 3 at the bottom, 2 in the middle, 1 at the top. You can play this indoors or outdoors just be careful not to have any fragile items around for those over-zealous throwers!
  2. Decide on your throwing distance. Let little ones stand closer than bigger ones and maybe use a marker to show where people need to stand to make their throws.
  3. Each player gets 3 shots at knocking down the tin cans. You get one point for every tin can you knock over. If you knock all cans with 1 ball/bean bag you get double points!

You can make variations to this game, perhaps look online for different ideas. We even set up a shooting range with our Nerf Guns and played a funfair style Shoot Out game with these too!

I hope you enjoy decorating, making and playing your tin can alley game. I would love for you to share your photos on my Facebook page, or tag me in your Instagram posts.

Have Fun!!

The Devine Mercy

The image of the Devine Mercy represent the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for his people, that from his heart flows Blood and Water, the mercy of God upon the whole world.

With Easter dawning as we approach the last two weeks of Lent, Christians are called to show an act of faith, by placing an image of the Divine Mercy on the front door of homes.

The image is based on writings of Saint Faustine Kowalska, a Polish nun, who wrote a diary of approximately 600 pages recording the revelations she received about God's mercy. The image above is a child friendly, downloadable image you can share with your children. You are welcome to share and print this image for private use. It may not be distributed for commercial purposes.

The message of the Divine Mercy is that God loves all of us. All we need is to Trust in Him.

What’s New with Tanya’s Fine Art & Illustration?

With the schools now closed indefinitely, and as a parent myself who will now be at home with my children, I am going to be working on FREE downloadable images and activities for children that I will share to help other parents and children.

Many of you may already know, I am a massive advocate for mindfulness, especially for children, so I will be including some anxiety relieving breathing techniques and activity based downloads, as well as one or two from the book I have been working on, and some curriculum based activities such as those which have been the basis of primary school topic work. And as time allows, and if people think this may help the elderly and vulnerable, I will be looking to extend this into more detailed colouring in downloads based on wildlife and nature to help alleviate the stress and boredom that may affect our other society groups during this difficult time.

I am currently building this brand new website to accommodate this ongoing project and free resource, so please bear with me if the website is looking a little shabby while I am in the process. You can access all of my free download by visiting my Free Downloads page.

As a last note, please feel free to share and follow me on my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages so you can receive alerts when new work is available to download. If you would like to put forward any suggestions that you feel would be of benefit I would love to hear from you.

Wishing everyone a safe transition into this massive but ultimately temporary change to our lives, we will all be stronger as a community when we see each other again on the other side. God Bless x
